Selling soon after buying: how much SSD?
Works out Seller's Stamp Duty from the sale price, the purchase date and the holding period.
Open selling soon after buying: how much SSD?
What it needs from you
- Selling price or market value
- Whichever is higher, in Singapore dollars.
- Date you bought
- Leave blank if on or after 4 Jul 2025.
- When you sell
- The date of sale, which sets how long you held the home.
How it works
This works out the Seller's Stamp Duty if you sell soon after buying; it is a planning estimate, not an IRAS assessment.
The schedule depends on the date you bought, so leave that blank only if you bought on or after 4 Jul 2025, and enter the selling price or market value, whichever is higher.
Source: IRAS, as at the date printed under the answer. Next: Seller's Stamp Duty.
Common mistakes
- Entering today's date instead of the purchase date.
- Applying the earlier schedule to a recent purchase.
- Reading the duty as your net proceeds: it is one deduction among several.
