When does my MOP end?
Works out when your Minimum Occupation Period ends, from your own key collection or completion date and your housing model. It is a planning date.
What it needs from you
- Month and year
- Your key collection date (flat bought from HDB) or your resale completion date.
- Housing model
- Standard (or unclassified, not PLH), Plus, or Prime (including PLH flats sold before Oct 2024).
How it works
This works out when your Minimum Occupation Period ends from your own completion date and housing model; it is a planning date, not HDB's ruling on your flat.
Time the whole flat was rented out with HDB's approval does not count, so your MOP can end later than shown; DBSS, SERS and Fresh Start flats have their own rules.
Source: HDB. Next: MOP and when you can sell.
Common mistakes
- Treating the date as HDB's ruling on your flat: time the flat was rented out with HDB's approval does not count, and some schemes have their own rules.
- Picking the wrong housing model: the number of years differs by model, as the MOP guide sets out.
