When does my MOP end?
For a Standard flat with the purchase completed in January 2022, the 5-year MOP ends in January 2027, 3 months from now.

HDB's minimum occupation period (MOP) is the time you must physically live in the flat. It starts from the day your purchase is legally completed: for a flat bought from HDB, that is your key collection appointment; for a resale flat, the resale completion. It is 5 years for Standard flats and for flats sold before the October 2024 sales exercise that were not classified, and 10 years for Plus and Prime flats. Prime includes Prime Location Public Housing (PLH) flats sold before October 2024. The same periods apply to new and resale flats.
Time you do not live in the flat, such as when the whole flat is rented out with HDB's approval, does not count, so your MOP can end later than this. Flats bought under DBSS, SERS or the Fresh Start Housing Scheme have their own rules. Check your own MOP in MyHDB Page.
| Housing model | MOP | MOP ends |
|---|---|---|
| Standard, or a flat sold before October 2024 that is not PLH | 5 years | January 2027 |
| Plus | 10 years | January 2032 |
| Prime, or a Prime Location Public Housing (PLH) flat | 10 years | January 2032 |

How this works
This works out when your Minimum Occupation Period ends from your own completion date and housing model; it is a planning date, not HDB's ruling on your flat.
Time the whole flat was rented out with HDB's approval does not count, so your MOP can end later than shown; DBSS, SERS and Fresh Start flats have their own rules.
